Dear everybody!
Summer vacation is over and we are back in our house in Copenhagen. Most of the summer was spent in the countryside, except for a two week business/astro trip to Australia for Mikael.
The first week of the school vacation I was alone with the kids while Signe was working in Copenhagen. One day
we went to an amusement park, 'Sommerland Sjælland'. They had lots of great stuff, here some historical
mini-houses where Peter is checking out if anyone's home:
Peter tried a racing car that could go at least 40 km/hour (faster than I could run after him!). Running around
the track I was glad Signe wasn't with us, the situation was pretty much out of control!
Here we're trying out the 'catepillar':
The weather might have been generally crappy this year, but the strawberries were fantastic. Tasty, big
and lots of them:
At our neighboring farm we visited the goats and cats. Ingrid was ready to take this kitten home!
A new activity for the kids this year was making desserts. Preferably with many bright colors and alot of
sugar (note the Australia flag I got from Brian and Veronica, my Australian hosts. Also, don't miss Ingrids
'Creekside Elementary' t-shirt!):
A good old activity is dressing up, and Ingrid keeps on finding new outfits in the attic. After a few
days in this one we started calling her 'Heidi':
Since we now have our two rodents living with us, we have found good use for all the hay that comes
from the garden. Here Signe and I are securing the harvest:
Summer evenings in Denmark are very nice! Here we are at 10.30 pm:
This picture is dedicated to Brain Coote from Australia! Peter, the viking, gnawing meat ripe from the
bone:
Yeat another voluptuous dessert, ready to eat:
After the summer vacation has ended, time for school. Here we're on our way to Peters first day at school:
One week earlier Peter started at the 'YMCA' associated with the school so he already knows some of his
fellow students. Here they all seem pretty cool:
By tradition the third graders (Ingrids class!) greet the newcomers with a song and flags:
After getting a flag, joining their group and leaving their parents the mood is a bit more serious:
That's all for now!
Love - Signe, Mikael, Ingrid and Peter
